Pitcher Perfect || Card Shape || First Edition Storyteller

Hi all,

I have a card to share today that I'm super proud of.
As you know I'm always on the lookout for something new to try and I saw a card on Pinterest in the shape of a pitcher.. I thought I'd have a go myself!

A Mini Adventure || Scrapbook Layout || First Edition Black Out

Hi all,

I have a new layout to share today using the First Edition 'Black Out' paper pads from Trimcraft. It's really easy to make, it just uses strips of patterned paper.

The picture is of me and my beloved Nancy-Doris on top of the hill outside Staithes on the way back from a trip to Whitby.

'Strike A Pose' Scrapbook Layout

Hi all,

So I'm still trying to finish off my 2016 scrapbook. I've been holding off because I'm a magpie and I'm waiting for all the new goodies to come out at Creativation (big trade show in Phoenix, AZ where anyone who's anyone in the crafting world is currently at and of whom I am currently extremely envious).

Anyhow, here's a layout I made using some bits I got at the end of last year - there's We R Memory Keepers 'Urban Chic', Pink Paislee 'Moonstruck' and Cocoa Vanilla 'Love Always' on here.

The picture was taken on Christmas Day during lunch, we were being silly, pouting for the camera in our posh party hats.

I really enjoyed making this layout, my mojo took a hike over xmas and then I've had lots of projects to make for Trimcraft so it was nice to try and get back into scrapping.

Go See Do || Scrapbook Layout || First Edition Storyteller

Hi all,

I have a new layout to share today using the First Edition Storyteller paper pad and tropical dies from Trimcraft.

The picture is of Nathan paddling in the sea when we went to Spain last year. My favourite picture ever, I never expected to ever see him in the sea without me having to ask very nicely if he'll come in with me. We had a lot of fun on that holiday.

Here's a close up of the lettering. In truth I'm not that happy with it, I would have liked to use something bigger but as this is a DT project for Trimcraft I had to use their products. Looking at it now though it's not so bad. Understated!

'Let The Light Of The Season Shine In Your Heart' || Scrapbook Layout || Pinkfresh Studio 'Oh Joy!'

Hi all,

I have a festive layout to share today using the 'Oh Joy' collection from Pinkfresh Studio.
This picture was taken on Christmas Day just before we had our Christmas lunch. Nathan and I went to Liverpool for Christmas with his parents and it was a lot of fun. We stayed at the Pullman hotel and it was very posh. Like, iPad in the room posh.

I was desperate to use the acetate cut apart sheet from the collection so I used it on this layout along with some gold sparkly washi tape I picked up for a grand total of fifteen pence for a pack of two from the 'cheap rack' in Sainsburys.

On the background I simply used Nuvo embellishment mousse through a DecoArt stencil.

The little snowflakes are from docrafts and I covered them in white glitter.
The flair are from Fancy Pants 'Merry & Bright'.

Simply Creative Country Garden Cards

Hi all,

I have some cards to share today using the Simply Creative Country Garden papers from Trimcraft.
The paper pads come in 12x12" and 6x6" and they are pastel colours with some illustrative floral and insect designs in a delicate black line. Very pretty!

Obviously I have to share my favourite first and it's this one where I used floral dies to create a pattern on plain white card and then stuck it onto patterned paper using 3D foam tape.

To find out how I made these cards, head over to my Trimcraft gallery! (LINK)

(I apologise for the Trimcraft spam, they released 8 paper pads at once, and I have to make 5 projects per collection... luckily I don't go back to uni til next week so I've been able to make some headway and as you know I love to be kept busy)

To aid my mission, I created a little reward chart.... I have since completed enough to eat the little Bounty bar!

Ahoy! || Scrapbook Layout || Simply Creative Kraft Keepsake

Hi all,

I have a layout to share today using the Simply Creative Kraft Keepsake paper pad and First Edition nautical dies from Trimcraft.
The picture is of one of the 'pirate ships' in Whitby. It was taken on the super hot day last September and the light was great for photography and I was able to get this really clear shot.

I initially wanted to use lots of mixed media on this layout but it didn't really work with the papers - the paper had lots of strong black lines on it and the picture and die cuts got lost. So I removed that paper and this plain one was behind it and looked a lot better.

The Trapeze...! (And.... who wants to be in a magazine!?!)

Hey all,

As you may know I'm always on the lookout for something that bit different.
So I was perusing social media and I found this tutorial on the Trimcraft website on how to make a trapeze fold card.
Normally I steer well clear of any form of origami (I get frustrated and confused!) but this seemed pretty easy so I had a go using the purple 'Back To Basics' goody bag.

This works a lot better with thinner card blanks, this is a coated purple one and it doesn't stand up too well because of the thickness of the card... And you can't run a ruler along to edge to flatten it as the coating might come off.

WHILE I'VE GRABBED YOUR INTEREST....

I don't know if I mentioned it on here but I am making a papercraft magazine for my final year project at university. It will be published online in late March/early April and I am looking for submissions.

The magazine is called ‘Inspired By Paper’ and is a papercraft magazine with a difference. It will feature lots of modern, contemporary projects. Not a teddy bear or filigree football boot in sight!
There are three themes for gallery features for which I am looking for submissions: Easter, Nautical and different ways of using alphas (alphabet stickers).
I am also looking for people to participate in a sketch challenge, and a scraps challenge. To apply for either of these, email me a link to your blog/gallery/Facebook page by Friday 13th January.
If you have a project that features a technique you’d love to demonstrate, then email me your idea and you might just get your very own technique feature.
Any type of project is welcome – I’d love to see some ATCs, boxes, mixed media, upcycling projects but good old cards and layouts will be just fine.
To submit and ask any questions, email me at inspiredbypaper1@gmail.com
• Must be able to provide a high quality photograph (or be willing to send in the project for me to photograph myself (I will be marked on photography) (but please bear in mind I will be unable to return any projects sent in))
• The submission can be something you have previously made but it must not have been featured in a magazine previously.
• Must use some form of paper (as it is called ‘Inspired By Paper’)
• No projects with digi stamps – sorry!
• The deadline is January 31st for all submissions.
I must stress that I may not be able to use all submissions for the magazine.
I may ask for a write up and close up images of your project.
All designers will be credited for their work in a dedicated ‘designers’ page in the magazine.
I cannot offer any payment for project submitted to the magazine.

Thanks for visiting!

You're My Silver Lining || Scrapbook Layout || Simply Creative 'Sweet Dreams'

Hi all,

A new layout to share today using the Simply Creative 'Sweet Dreams' paper pad from Trimcraft.

This took a lot longer than it looks - my silver thread and my sewing machine do not get along so I had to stitch that bit by hand...

I used a picture of Nathan and I in York on my birthday last August. I had already saved it in black and white for another layout so I just had to print it out again.

Here are some close ups.

To find out a little more how I made this layout then head over to my Trimcraft gallery (LINK).

The title is from this song.... "Walking In My Sleep" by Andrew McMahon. It goes "I'll never stop trying, you're my silver lining". I like the song very much. Here's a video if you fancy a listen...

Carnaby Street Scrapbook Layout || First Edition 'Black Out'

Hi all,

First things first - Happy New Year! I stayed up to see the new year in and then went straight to bed. 22 going on 102...!

Anyway, here is the first project I have made using the new First Edition 'Black Out' paper pads.

The picture is one my parents took on our recent trip to London. We never got to Carnaby Street but they did and the Christmas lights looked amazing and I had to make a page using this photo.
