5 Projects Using... Simply Creative Fiesta Fun

Here are 5 projects using the Simply Creative 'Fiesta Fun' papers from Trimcraft.  I love these papers as there are lots of little bits to cut out. There are instructions on how to make them below each picture.

  1. Cut two 12x12" sheets of patterned paper in half on the diagonal.
  2. Stick the two alternating halves onto another 12x12" sheet of patterned paper, so the corners meet in the middle. Trim off the excess.
  3. Add washi tape along the sides of one and down one vertical side of the other.
  4. Print two photos at 2x3" and mount on to patterned paper. Stick down.
  5. Fussy cut bunting and stick across the top of the page.
  6. Add embellishments and a title.

  1. Measure the cover of your notebook and cut a piece of patterned paper to fit the front and back, and stick both down. Add a border to the left side of the front cover.
  2. Stamp a 'day of the dead' skull onto white cardstock and colour with markers. Cut out and stick on a die cut circle. Stick this onto a small doily.
  3. Arrange alphas onto coloured cardstock, cut out and mount.
  4. Stick diagonally across the cover.

  1. Download the 'Free Toucan Template' from The Craft Blog. Link > https://www.thecraftblog.com/freebies/downloads
  2. Trace the template onto coloured cardstock, cut out, piece and glue together.
  3. Using a compass or large circular object, cut a 10" ring from coloured cardstock.
  4. Lay the ring onto patterned paper and lightly mark where it will sit. Remove the ring and paint gesso around that area.
  5. Once dry, use the packaging technique to smoosh watercolours over the gessoed areas.
  6. Stick the ring onto the page.
  7. Add the toucan, as well as flowers and leaves to the ring. The flowers are die cut, the leaves are from the template.
  8. Use 3D Pearl Effects to add detail to the ring and flowers.
  9. Add a photo in the centre and finish with a title.

  1. Find a template for a pineapple, print and trace onto coloured cardstock. Cut out.
  2. On the main body of the pineapple, draw lines and stitch along them with yellow thread.
  3. Cover a 6x6" card blank with green cardstock. Layer 2 more patterned papers onto this base and add some twine, tying in a bow.
  4. Arrange the pineapple and stick down.
  5. Die cut a flamingo and add to the card, finishing with a sentiment.

For this card, I used free printables available to download on the Trimcraft website.

  1. Print and cut out the elements you want from the printables. Cut the inside from the film strip.
  2. Stick patterned paper in the apertures.
  3. Add 3D Pearl Effects to the pineapple leaves, and coloured dots all around the pineapple.
  4. Die cut a sentiment from coloured cardstock and stick to a large pennant.
  5. Take a 13cm square of coloured cardstock and emboss.
  6. Arrange the elements and stick down, using 3D foam to add dimension.
Thanks for stopping by!
