Time To Create || Scrapbook Layout || Simple Stories The Reset Girl

Hi all,

I have a super quick and easy scrapbook layout to share today, using the Simple Stories 'The Reset Girl' chipboard stickers & washi tape. I got them as part of a kit last year and they've been sitting around because I never really scrapbooked about creating before....
Until National Scrapbook Day happened and I wanted to scrapbook the layouts I had made during that weekend.

Changing Things Up!

Hey all,

Had a bit of a rethink this week.
With so many projects for Trimcraft, I had layouts scheduled up until November already. Crazy, right! I have been so inspired lately!
However, I realise that one blog post per project might not be the best way to go about things...
So I am going to introduce...

'5 Ideas Using'...!

Every Tuesday I will post 5 projects using the same (Trimcraft) paper pad or collection. There will be a variety of different ideas and types of projects in each post. Maybe you will see something new you want to try. This way I get to share my DT projects, inspire my readers and free up some blog space for future projects. Hopefully it'll be a more interesting format for you all!

And each Saturday I'll try and get a scrapbook layout up using my own stash. Last week I ordered some things from the new collections and I am really looking forward to using them.

Today I have some write ups to do and I might bake.
Have a fab day!

Beautiful Day || Mixed Media Scrapbook Layout & Process Video

Hi all,

I have a new layout to share today, and a little process video too. I didn't use any particular collection here, I just went through my stash and picked out some bits that were blue.

Here's my process video, it's in timelapse. I bought a little clamp to hold my phone above my desk so I can film top down now!

Mini Mixed Media Canvas || StudioLight 'Romantic Vintage'

Hi all,

I have a little mixed media canvas to share today, using the StudioLight 'Romantic Vintage' collection from Cherish The Memory.

Back when I was in high school I loved painting (not that I was that good!) and I bought little canvases from The Works but never ended up using them.
I figured 7 years in a box was too long so I got one out, flipped it over and painted it with Distress Paint.

I stuck one of the die cut pieces in the back and layered up more inside and outside the frame.

Secret Garden || Scrapbook Layout

Hi all,

I have a little story to tell you today.
It all started one weekend when I was experiencing Anxiety.
I am so much better than I used to be but sometimes life makes you overthink and then diminishes any creativity. So I was in my craft room at a loss...
Then my parents walked in and said they wanted to craft with me.
I nearly cried!

Mum was sat on the floor next to me cutting out bits of wallpaper like she did when she was young (in the 50s and 60s there were no scrapbook supplies, so they had to cut bits out of magazines and newspapers) , and dad was laid on the floor reading. We had coffee and biscuits and it was lovely.

Here's what I started making that evening and finished off the next day. It's using mostly Maggie Holmes' 'Shine' & 'Bloom' collections. The picture is of me (wow!) a few weeks ago when I had a photography morning with my dad at the local garden centre. They have show gardens there and I was sitting looking at all the tadpoles in the pond, and dad took my picture.

Here's Ma & Pa keeping me company <3

ATCs || StudioLight 'My Botanic Garden'

Hi all,

Quick post from me today, here are some ATCs that I made using the StudioLight 'My Botanic Garden' collection from Cherish The Memory.
I made them by cutting up a 12x12" sheet that had ATC sized prints on it, and decorated them with the die cut ephemera from the collection.

Embrace Life || Scrapbook Layout

Hi all,

I have a layout to share today using a watercolour background.

I had just bought the Pink Paislee 'Fancy Free' chipboard sheet and I wanted to use them to make a layout. I grabbed a piece of 12x12" white cardstock and mixed up watercolours to match the colours in the chipboard sheet. Then, I painted circles in each colour, making sure the layer below was dry so that the colours didn't go muddy. Once that was all dry, I stitched more circles using the sewing machine.
The picture is of Nathan and I in York recently. It's our go-to place if it's a lovely day and we fancy a walk around and a nice burger. We like the Slug & Lettuce as it's right by the river, and we always make sure we get a window seat.

How To Love Your Sequins! || Flamingo Cards || First Edition 'Sweet Nothings'

Hi all,

So you know I'm obsessed with flamingos...?
And shiny things?
Here are a couple ideas for you to use your sequins.
These cards are made using the First Edition 'Sweet Nothings' papers from Trimcraft.

  1. Cut a pink tag from the cut apart sheet in the 12x12" Sweet Nothings paper pad. Use it as a template to cut a tag from white cardstock too.
  2. Die cut a flamingo from the pink tag.
  3. Using 3D foam, stick the flamingo tag to the white tag.
  4. Put glue in the aperture and add sequins.
  5. Add strips from the cut apart sheet to the bottom of the tag. Add twine to the top of the tag.
  6. Die cut a sentiment from patterned paper and stick to the bottom of the tag.
  7. Use a green gelato or watercolour paint to colour a small white doily. Stick this behind the tag once dry.
  8. Cover a plain frame with patterned paper and stick behind the doily & tag.
  9. Behind these stick a scrap of patterned paper.

  10. On a 6x6" card blank, layer up a 14 and 13.5cm squares of patterned paper.
  11. Stick the tag layers onto the card, sandwiching silver thread while doing so.

  1. Cover an A6 card blank with patterned paper.
  2. Cut a 14.5x10cm piece of white cardstock.
  3. Lightly draw a teardrop shape on its side towards the bottom of the piece of cardstock.
  4. Add blue and silver sequins using glue.
  5. Around the edge of this and around the edge of the piece of cardstock, odd dots of 3D pearl effects.
  6. Add a die cut flamingo and die cut sentiment.
  7. Finish with more dots and adhesive gems, then stick to the covered card blank.

(Un)Lost || A4 Scrapbook Layout

Hi all,

I have a layout to share today and it's quite different from what I normally do as it's clean-and-simple.

It was one I created for a National Scrapbook Day challenge, and the challenge was to be inspired by a song. The song I chose is "(Un)Lost" by The Maine and I've put it below the picture if you fancy a listen.

Anyway, I chose to use this picture of my boyfriend, taken at the top of Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh. At this point I was still getting my bearings, it was very high up... Nathan was already sat quite happily taking pictures. I took this one on my phone.

I tried to come up with a clever way of having the lyrics from the song on the page - I didn't want to stamp them (too big) or die cut them (even bigger), so instead I put some A4 cardstock in the printer and printed the lyrics.

The papers are from a... American Crafts or Studio Calico 6x6" pad called... Darling Dear! I think they're super old but they matched my picture. I cut strips the same width as my 3x4" photo and lightly stuck them down before stitching through them.
